SELECTED PRIDE TRAINING MATERIALS
Pre-Service training for foster, adoptive and kinship families is delivered by DYFS using the Foster PRIDE/Adopt PRIDE curriculum developed by the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). This program was introduced in 2005 as part of the New Jersey Child Welfare Reform plan and includes 27 hours of interactive training facilitated by a DYFS trainer and a volunteer resource parent trainer. Most of the material used for the curriculum is presented in the PRIDEBook; a copyrighted workbook that includes the core PRIDE training materials for participants. Listed below are some of the additional handouts that have been developed by trainers in Morris County to enhance the training experience and include information that is specific to New Jersey's child welfare system.
